January 3
No walk today for I did break something. The middle proximal phalange in my left foot. It’s a toe bone but close the where the toe meets the foot, so it’s extra owie.
The physicians assistant at urgent care was like “you broke your toe.” And I was like “I know. It’s happened a lot, but this felt different.” And she was like “Oh I wanted to ask you about that because your toes appear much older than your age.” To which I replied, “Horses.” To which she said simply, “Oh.”
When I told my trainer she reminded me of that time at the beginning of Covid when NYS specifically included horse stables as businesses that needed to close despite being outside with very low chances of transmission. The doctor that rides at our stable suggested it was probably because they didn’t need the horse people clogging up the ERs. I have to concede, she probably has a point.
Anyway, I was very excited to walk today because I wanted to remind you that today was the latest sunrise of the year! I wanted to be the one to declare that today, TODAY! is the actual day at which point the light returns; after today we begin to earn back daylight both in the morning and the evening.
So I have to press pause on #MeetingMorning for a few days and I wanted to ask your opinion: When I start up again should I start back at Day 1? Or should I pickup with Day 31 and just keep going? It’s a silly philosophical question, but it turns out I have some time to ponder these things at the moment and would love your insight. Thank you!
