Day 22, December 25, 9:22 a.m.

The weather outside’s disgusting,
And the holidays are exhausting.
But I made a random commitment to people I don’t necessarily know,
So let’s go, let’s go, let’s go (for a walk)!

What a difference a day makes! Where yesterday was beautiful and quiet and magical, this morning was wet and slushy and bitter. After a late night of extended family celebrations at my mom’s, we got a too early wake up call from Em. He was so excited! It’s hard for that not to be contagious. And though I was tired and still over-stuffed from last night’s feast, and though the weather was downright dreadful, out I went anyway. And it felt good.
