Day 11, December 14, 7:02 a.m.
I like these kinds of mornings, where the sun isn’t occluded by clouds and the first rays of sun up crawl over the hills and fields, bringing contrast and contour back to the landscape. I like how it starts with the tops of the trees. If you look up they glow all rosy and golden, and it’s lovely! And in winter looking up brings the added benefit of showcasing birds being silly. Always look up when you can.
I tend to keep my eyes on the east while I walk, in case anything spectacular happens. But it is usually the west that offers the first hint of sunup. The westerly hillsides begin to glow, like they’re lit by a spotlight. That’s when it’s key to find a good vantage point, to stop and stare and wait for the sun to hit my face. #MeetingMorning
